On June 22nd, Katrina Austin was presented with the Employee Recognition award. She was nominated by the family of an individual whom Katrina served as Case Coordinator for many years. Unfortunately the individual passed away unexpectedly and his family was unable to travel to Birmingham due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This is a quote from the family, “I relied heavily on her help and assistance. She was always willing to receive my calls and texts, no matter the day or time. She became a person I knew I could trust and rely on in my time of need.” This is just one example of the care Katrina provides daily to the individuals served by the ProACT team. She embodies the true intent of this award, to go above and beyond the call of duty.
